I hate when companies rebrand themselves.
Mostly because I don’t like change. And also, it makes me think that the company is trying to hide something.
But sometimes, as I have discovered, it is necessary.
It is time for me to come out from behind my nom de plume and write as me. As Rebecca.
I love “Frume Sarah” and I have loved writing as her for the past eight years. The anonymity seemed necessary in the beginning. And for a long time, my identity did remain protected. But to establish myself as a “real” writer, it is time to throw back the curtain and make the big reveal:
My name is NOT Sarah
It’s not.
My name is Rebecca. Rebecca Einstein Schorr.

Mazel Tov!
(And on a selfish note, maybe this will help me stop calling you Sarah in my head even though I know its not your name!)
Ha!
I love the title of your new blog AND the picture of the legendary cornfield!
Thanks!! This is right across the road from our homestead.
I switched blogs also about 9 months ago! Enjoy your new adventures.
Merci!
I’m enjoying your new one as well. LOVE the British Culture Quiz and had fun taking it.
Looking forward to seeing what your new blog has to offer.
I’m so glad that you are here!!
Looking forward to reading your new blog. Mazal Tov on the move.
Thanks so much, J. I enjoy yours as well.
It scared the heck out of me the first time I put my actual name online, but it really had become a necessity and in time it started feeling very right. I’m sure it will feel just as right for you.
Titchadshi my friend, titchadshi.
It really is rather scary, isn’t it??
תודה רבה, חברתי.
Mazel tov! And blessings to you as you go forward out in the open!
Thanks so much, Lael. It’s liberating. Scary, but liberating.
Will you still be posting to Facebook when you have new blog entries? Also, what happened to Yael?
Shellie
Yep. Still posting to FB. But the easiest way to find out when I’ve posted is to enter your email up on the sidebar and subscribe. The posts will be sent straight to your inbox.
As for Yaël — I moved away from that when I left the shul last year. I had been missing “Einstein” for a long time, but decidedly did not want to use it while working with Rabbi E.
I enjoyed the old blog and I am sure I will enjoy this new one.
בהצלחה
Thanks so much, Risa. And thanks for following me here.
GOOD for you!!!! I will follow you anywhere. Meanwhile, I’m equally impressed with the change to Wordpress.org. Was it painful? Give me details!
I am so flattered, N.
It is a lot more work than wordpress.com. BUT worth it so far. I like my new look.
Has anyone ever told you that you look just like Frume Sarah. 😉
Weird, huh??
I love Frume Sarah and I will miss her.
BUT, I love you more…and I can’t wait to read your new blog!
I’m gonna miss her too.
And I love you!
Congrats on taking off the Lone Ranger mask. But I gotta echo Shelley — what happened to Yael? (sorry, have to leave off the oomlaut)
Eve
Gave the name explanation above.
It’s hard to remove the mask and be so vulnerable. I am still struggling to maintain my voice now that I am writing as me and not the other me.
Whatever you call yourself, I still call you wonderful. I’m sure your new site will have the same flair as the last and I look forward to reading about your future adventures. You’re a grand writer, a loving woman, a good Mom and a loyal friend. Enjoy life!
Cindy
Aw…you are so sweet, Cindy. Thanks for sticking with me and for all your continued support and friendship!
Wow… “Frume Sarah” gave me the courage to create my blog (which I’ve sorely neglected) and was my teacher in ways she will never know and although I know that “Frume Sarah” and Rebecca Einstein Schorr are one in the same, I feel as though I’m saying goodbye to an old friend.
I’m looking forward to reading about your “new” life and can’t wait to see where “This Messy Life” takes you!!
(Sorry to say that I am not comfortable addressing you as “Rebecca.” To me, you will always be Rabbi – my teacher, my friend, my sage… thanks to Rabbi Ellenson for the definition).
Thank you for sharing a small part of your life with your readers – especially those of us who don’t get to see you anymore!!
I’ve missed you too!! It was great to spend some precious moments together this past Shabbat. Remind your other half that I am looking forward to some face time on the 29th.
And thanks for being so supportive.
Aaahh. This explains it. Nice move. So many changes. I’m glad I’m less than a week behind. Love you.
Love you too!!!!!!
Mazel tov!
Thanks, Steven. So glad that we got to catch up this past Shabbat.
As long as you keep writing, all is good! The new site looks great!
Thanks so much, Kim!!! Glad to see your comment here. Hope you stay in the ongoing conversation.
After seeing your post on FB I had to come back and go all the way back from prev. post to prev. post to find the original! I had to see what was happening! How did I not know you’ve been here all this time? 🙂 So glad to see *YOU!*
I didn’t realize that you hadn’t put it all together. It’s *ME*!!!!!
