Look what was sitting on my doorstep today!
And it’s not even my birthday. (It is my twelfth mommy-versary today, but that’s fodder for another post.)
The package was not a complete surprise because there was a card that had preceded it. By about ten minutes. So maybe that still counts as a surprise. I don’t know.
What I DO know is that the note was one of most heartfelt, kindest notes I’ve ever received. And the trouble that the author took of looking up my Amazon wishlist touches me deeply. The books were not necessary. There was no occasion. “Just Because…” the card said.
Which is, I suppose, it’s very own occasion.
So thank you, N, for taking the time to pen such a thoughtful note. BY HAND!!! The feelings are mutual. How I look forward to spending some quality time, lost in-between the covers of these gifts. Your kindness means so much.

That’s so sweet! I have that Shelf Discovery book, but I’ve not read it. Maybe it would be a good summer read.
YES!!! It is in small enough chunks that it will be easy to just keep in one’s beach/pool bag. Let’s compare notes when we’ve finished it!!!
